Julie Freres is a film director and producer. She is known for A Way Home (2020), Ailleurs, Partout, In Another Life (2019), Renault 12 (2018), Rwanda, la vie après (2014)... After studying filmmaking at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Belgium, Julie Freres directed her first documentary Par conviction in 2007. She was a director at RTBF from 2001 to 2011. Since January 2012, she has been the Director of Dérives (Atelier de production, Liège), producing 4 to 5 documentary films a year. She has been Professor of Production at INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle et des Techniques de Diffusion, Brussels) since 2018.
